Position Information

Rutherford Technology High School located respectfully on the traditional lands of the Wonnarua People, is a large comprehensive high school supporting students from West Maitland to Branxton. Positive Behaviour for Learning is a focus supporting all members of the school community to be respectful, responsible and committed to learning. Current enrolment is 1405 with 22% students Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and students from a variety of cultural backgrounds, some with English as a second language. The school currently has 11 Support Classes. The school’s Family, Occupation Education Index is 138 with an Index of Community Socio-Educational Advantage of 903 in 2024. The school prides itself on providing students with opportunities to excel and reach their potential by effectively resourcing a wide range of sporting, cultural, vocational and academic programs. Specific Selection Criteria
1. Approval to teach Food Technology, Textiles and Design.
2. Ability to support the learning needs of all students.
3. Ability to work as a collaborative member of the TAS Faculty, contributing to new syllabus programming, assessment task and resource development.
4. Capacity to effectively interpret student assessment data to refine teaching and learning programs and provide explicit feedback to maximise student achievement.

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
