Position Information

Corrimal High School is situated on the northern beaches of Wollongong and provides high quality comprehensive education for 559 students from Year 7 to Year 12. With a strong Learning Hub, the school places an emphasis on data-informed, personalised learning, including high quality instruction in literacy and numeracy, to enhance the educational achievements of all students, including 92 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, eight support classes and 10% of students from language backgrounds other than English. The school enjoys positive relationships within its community of schools and has developed strong networks across the Illawarra.

 

Corrimal High School is one of the Illawarra Academy of STEM Excellence schools as part of the STEM Industry Schools Partnership (SISP) Initiative and also has a small Agriculture Farm and a dedicated Aboriginal Learning & Engagement Centre. The school is a pivotal hub for its community and is operating in the context of ongoing demographic and pedagogical change, supported by a dedicated, caring staff and an aspirational parent community.

Specific Selection Criteria

1) Approval to teach Food Technology & Hospitality - Food and Beverage
2) Demonstrated capacity to work as a collaborative member of the TAS faculty and school community, contributing to programs, resource creation and whole school initiatives.
3) Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver engaging and challenging differentiated programs to meet diverse student needs, including the needs of gifted and talented students and students needing learning support.
4) Knowledge of and commitment to the Department of Education's Aboriginal Education Policies and capacity to improve Aboriginal student outcomes.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
