Position Information
Warren Central School is committed to providing a stimulating, caring and cooperative learning environment for 248 students (K - 12), with 47 % Indigenous from the township of Warren and it's surrounding rural areas. The school prides itself on providing an inclusive learning environment for both mainstream students and students with disabilities. Warren Central School is very well resourced to support learning programs which have been developed to extend the learning capacity of all students. The school staff consists of approximately 50 personnel comprising school executive, classroom teachers, casual teachers, school learning support officers, Aboriginal Education Officers and administrative staff. Overall the staff is highly experienced and professional in their respective roles and responsibilities. The low staff turnover rate together with executive staff being permanently appointed, has positively impacted on the balance and stability of the school's leadership team.
Specific Selection Criteria
Approval to teach English 7-12
Sophisticated communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships with students, staff and wider community
Demonstrated ability to implement effective classroom management strategies and plan the delivery of quality, engaging lessons that differentiates the curriculum
Experience and/or willingness to facilitate extra-curricular opportunities, such as public speaking and debating
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
