Position Information
Neutral Bay Public School, enrolment 659 students, including 48% from a language background other than English, comprises 25 regular classes and two opportunity classes for high potential and gifted students. Specific Selection Criteria
Approval to teach English as an additional language or dialect or currently undertaking or currently enrolled in English as an additional language or dialect qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education.
Demonstrated understanding and use of effective EAL/D pedagogy with the ability to differentiate teaching across the key learning areas to meet the needs of students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage EAL/D students and their families, and work collaboratively with staff in the effective use of the EAL/D Learning Progressions, whole-school data collection, and assessment and reporting practices.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
