Position Information

Merrylands High School is a comprehensive High School in Sydney's South West with a growing population that currently sits at over 810 students. The school is proud to celebrate its cultural and linguistic diversity, with 87.3% of students having a non-English speaking background shared across a total of 55 unique languages. The school has six support classes, three Multi-Categorical and three Autism classes. 

Specific Selection Criteria

Approval to teach Secondary – English as an additional language or dialect or currently completing or currently enrolled in an approved post graduate qualification for teaching English as an additional language or dialect as recognised by the NSW Department of Education.

Approval to and/or willingness to teach English years 7-12. 

Demonstrated use of data to develop and adjust teaching and learning programs and assessments to deliver high-quality differentiated teaching and learning programs to maximise the learning outcomes of EAL/D students.

Well-developed communication, organisation and interpersonal skills with a capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and community.

Conditions

The successful applicant may be eligible to receive a one-off recruitment payment of $20,000. (Conditions apply)

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
