Position Information

Denham Court Public School is a newly opened school in the Glenfield Network. The community is expected to experience rapid growth in the first five years of development and celebrates a wide variety of cultural backgrounds with upwards of 75% NESB. The school has the capacity for 878 students, catering for students from Kindergarten to Year 6 and also includes four support classes for students with a disability, established in 2022. Denham Court Public School incorporates an innovative and future focused educational model, including open teaching and learning areas alongside modern specialist teaching spaces. Each learning hub has capacity for four class groups utilising a co-teaching model. Extensive collaboration with the Aboriginal Educational Consultative Group (AECG) informed the development of the school. Specific Selection Criteria

1.Approval to teach primary English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D) or currently enrolled in an approved qualification for teaching EAL/D, as recognised by the NSW Department of Education.

2.Strong collaborative skills to work with an EAL/D team and teachers to assess, plan, and implement effective differentiated programs for EAL/D, Aboriginal and New Arrival students. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage families of EAL/D students and to guide teachers in the effective use of the EAL/D Learning Progressions.

4.Strong understanding and application of departmental policies and procedures, including use of the EAL/D School Evaluation Framework, to plan for and implement improved whole school practices that align with the school's priorities.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
