Position Information

Galungara Public School is located on Farmland Drive Schofields, in the Blacktown Local Government Area. With accommodation for approximately 1000 students, the school is committed to meeting the anticipated significant and rapid growth of the area. 260 students K-6 began their journey at Galungara Public School, Day 1, Term 1 2021. With a current enrolment of 854 students K-6, including those from non-English speaking backgrounds (87%) and students who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander (1.4%) along with three classes that cater for students with disabilities, Galungara Public prides itself on its inclusive environment.

Through the utilisation of technology-based platforms to engage in teaching and learning and a commitment to collaborative teaching in flexible learning spaces, the school's innovative learning environment is used purposefully to promote the development of creative and critical thinkers, capable of deep inquiry. Underpinned by the school’s motto, Inspire. Specific Selection Criteria

Approval to teach or currently undertaking or currently enrolled in an approved post graduate qualification for teaching English as an additional language (K-6) as approved by the NSW Department of Education.

Demonstrated capacity to work with collaborative teaching teams to support English language learning and literacy development across K-6 Curriculum areas.

Evidence of effective data driven practices to inform school directions and K-6 teaching and learning programs.

Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, community members and external support services to promote and achieve positive outcomes for students.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
