Position Information
Busby Public School (enrolment 251 students, 70% language background other than English and 17% Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) caters for students K-6 in a medium density setting within the Liverpool Public School network The school was established in 1963 and has 10 mainstream K-6 classes and three autism support class (established 2021).

Specific Selection Criteria

Approval to teach English as an additional language or dialect (EAL/D) or currently undertaking or currently enrolled in English as an additional language or dialect qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education.

Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to actively collaborate with students, staff and the wider community to build positive relationships that support student outcomes and promote an inclusive school culture. 

Demonstrated ability to develop and implement high quality engaging and effective differentiated teaching and learning EALD programs and resources to maximise the learning outcomes of the diverse cultures including Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students.

Ability to track growth, guide teachers in the effective use of ACARA EAL/D Learning Progressions and ESL Scales, and work collaboratively with staff on whole-school data collection and reporting practices.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
