As we continue to uphold our tradition of excellence, we are seeking an innovate and forward thinking Digital Technology Teacher to teach as a specialist Teacher in our Senior School across Years 6-12.
Your role:
As a Digital Technology Teacher, you will offer our students in Years 6-12 a dynamic program that nurtures innovation, creativity, and technical excellence. As a member of the Creative Industries Faculty, the Digital Technology Teacher will be expected to work in a collaborative manner with colleagues and contribute to the overall development of the Digital Technology program. By fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment, you’ll nurture our students' unique talents and inspire them to explore the dynamic world of technology, fostering their creativity and problem-solving abilities.
Responsibilities Include:
- Plan, prepare and deliver learning and teaching programs which are consistent with the relevant syllabi followed by the College.
- Apply the principles of inclusive teaching and learning, including the use
of learning technologies and assessment, to create a supportive and
challenging environment in which students are supported in achieving to
their potential. - Build relationships and partnerships with students, parents, fellow staff and the wider community through the use of well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
- Provide hands-on, project-based learning opportunities to encourage active participation and collaboration.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in Digital Technology
and integrate them into the curriculum. - Work collaboratively with peers to meet position and departmental responsibilities.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Maintain NCCD records in relation to Digital Technologies.
- Be a key advocate for the importance of using technology in the classroom.
- Attend student assemblies, worship and other activities as required.
- Develop a culture of high expectations for all students by modelling appropriate dress, language, behaviour and communication practices.
- Contribute to professional networks and associations and build productive links with the wider community to improve teaching and learning.
- Through the Communities of Practice (CoPs) teams, be active and engaged in sharing practice and raising the bar of student achievement.
Key Selection Criteria:
- Be passionate about teaching and enriching the learning experience of students.
- Have a strong background and passion in digital technologies.
- Have a willingness to be part of a well-established and collaborative team.
- Proven classroom management and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to the diverse extracurricular program of the College.
- Have an active interest in, and commitment to the education of our students.
- Proven ability to conduct oneself in a way which develops personal respect, respect for the College and the teaching profession.
Essential Qualifications:
- Proven experience in teaching Digital Technology across Years 6-12.
- Current Queensland College of Teacher Registration.
