Position Information
Prairievale Public School is a P3 school in Bossley Park on Dharug Land. It has an enrolment of 413, with 92% of students from a language background other than English. The school's community represents a wonderfully diverse range of cultures, which includes 39 different language backgrounds. It has seven Diverse Learner Classes for students with Autism and Intellectual disabilities and emphasises inclusivity in all aspects of its operations. Prairievale Public School has a strong welfare platform that supports students learning and promotes proactive and preventative behaviour support. The school is a Positive Behaviour for Learning School that implements trauma-informed practices to promote a safe space for children and families to learn and interact.
Specific Selection Criteria
1. Approval to teach Infants, Primary and Vietnamese - Community Language, with knowledge of the Modern Languages syllabus outcomes and Vietnamese language and culture.
2. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of explicit teaching and ongoing assessment and feedback to engage and differentiate the curriculum to meet the learning needs and strengths of a diverse range of learners.
3. Demonstrated capacity to develop engaging learning environments and implement evidence-based behaviour and classroom management strategies that enhance student wellbeing and learning outcomes.
4. Highly developed interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work actively and authentically when collaborating with students, staff, and parents to support student outcomes and promote a positive school culture.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
Special Notes
This is a permanent part time position for 3 days per week 0.6FTE (Full-time equivalent)
