About the Role
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Inventory management
- Interpret project plans and maintain material purchasing spreadsheets
- Monitor tools, equipment, materials and other supplies inventories
- Purchasing and procurement procedures
- Prepare bulk materials for individual projects from specific class requirements (through use of table saw, band saw, thicknesser and compound mitre saw)
- Conduct stock takes
- Follow chemical management procedures
Maintenance
- Undertake regular maintenance of tools, equipment and machinery
- Maintain equipment maintenance records (EMR) and workshop safety signage
- Monitor electrical and mechanical equipment to adhere to service requirements
- Lubricate machinery and sharpen chisels, planes and knifes
- Manufacture and install additional facilities to support efficiency (eg storage units)
Curriculum Support
- Prepare project materials for curriculum and assessment activities
- Set up tools, machinery and materials for practical workshop activities
- Provide classroom support for practical workshop activities
Administration
- Meet with Head of Department regularly to discuss faculty requirements
- Provide administrative support within faculty
- Undertake cleaning and housekeeping
- Liaise with other school support staff
- Assisting teaching staff with playground duties
