About the Role:
The Teacher Aide reports to the Principal or BM as appropriate. The reporting relationship to teachers may be changed by the Principal on a regular basis to fulfil specific needs within the school. When supporting students with specific health procedures, a Teacher Aide will be under the direct or indirect supervision of a registered nurse or medical practitioner.
As the Teacher Aide your key responsibilities will be:
- Working in the student services/ wellbeing areas of the school.
- Displaying respect and empathy for students with high level needs.
- Displaying confidentiality, tact, reliability and sensitively to students and their families.
- Assisting in the supervision of education activities, under the direction of a teacher/HOY/HOD.
- Assisting teachers and students with sporting activities and with school excursions.
- Assisting in preparing, storing, making available and clearing away teaching equipment and materials.
- Contributing to the welfare, health and safety of students including the delivery of first aid.
- Assisting with integral school events such as the Awards Ceremony in conjunction with a DP.
- In class support and playground duties as and when required to do so.
- Working with the team in Wellbeing/Student Services to ensure students are supported at all times.
- Checking students in/out.Email out inconsistencies for unmarked roles to staff.
- Assist in fortnightly attendance rewards process.
- Assisting to make breakfast/sandwiches for students that are in need.
- Helping students with uniform when required to do so.Assist students with learning as they complete work at the wellbeing centre.
- Classroom support if required.
This is a Temporary Part-time position, commencing 23 January 2025 to 12 December 2025, working 60 hours per fortnight or 0.79 FTE.
