St Eugene College is a Catholic co-educational Prep-12 school located in Burpengary. In 2023, the college will have approximately 1450 students and a staff of approximately 150. St Eugene’s College, Burpengary, is committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students. We are currently seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Middle Years School Officer (Teacher Aide) to provide personalized support for a student with extensive needs. Your role will be pivotal in helping to create an enriching educational experience tailored to the individual needs of the student.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with teachers and the broader team to create the best possible learning opportunities for students.
  • Provide personalised support for a student with extensive needs, ensuring their individual learning and wellbeing are prioritized.
  • Assist classroom teachers with managing and organising daily classroom activities and resources.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support, offering guidance with learning tasks and assisting students in staying on task.
  • Prepare instructional materials and set up learning resources to ensure students have everything needed for their learning experience.
  • Foster a nurturing, positive, and encouraging classroom environment where every student feels valued.
  • Collaborate with teachers to monitor and track student progress, providing feedback that helps inform future teaching strategies.
  • Contribute to the broader life of the school, supporting both academic and social aspects of the students’ development.
  • Uphold and support the Catholic ethos and values of St Eugene’s College.


To be eligible to be considered for this role you will:

  • hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement;
  • be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment; and
  • have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education.
