Why this Role?
We are seeking a committed Teacher Aide to support the development and daily operation of the school's Belonging Hub (co-regulation room). The role focuses on supporting students to co-regulate emotions and behaviour using evidence-based, trauma-informed practices. The successful applicant will work collaboratively with classroom teachers and support staff to ensure consistent approaches that promote student wellbeing, engagement, and readiness to learn.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting students in co-regulation and self-regulation using agreed, evidence-based strategies
- Assisting in the implementation and maintenance of the Belonging Hub as a safe, supportive space
- Communicating effectively with classroom teachers regarding student needs, strategies, and transitions
- Contributing to consistent, school-wide approaches to wellbeing and behaviour support
- Demonstrating a willingness to engage in professional learning and develop skills in co-regulation and trauma-informed practice

To progress to TAOO4 Teacher Aide, the following criteria applies:
- Employment with the Department as a permanent Teacher Aide at OO3 (Paypoint 4) for at least 12 months.
- Hold a Certificate III level qualification, equivalent or higher.
- Hold a current Senior First Aid certificate or equivalent.
- Sign an Undertaking committing to perform higher level duties as outlined in Schedule 7 of the Department of Education Teacher Aides' Certified Agreement 2022
