Our team prioritises student wellbeing and incorporates student focused practices to create safe, predictable and supportive learning environments where all students can succeed.

You will be joining a collaborative, professional and caring team that values respect, consistency and relationship-based approaches. This role is ideal for someone passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of students within a nurturing and supportive school community.

Why this Role?

Make an Impact by:

  • Work closely with classroom teachers to support the learning, engagement and wellbeing of students, particularly those with complex learning, behavioural and emotional needs.
  • Provide targeted individual and small-group support through implementing inclusive practices.
  • Assist students to develop social, emotional and self-regulation skills in a safe, respectful and supportive manner.
  • Support students with personal care, transitions, routines and classroom activities as required.
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive school culture by building strong, respectful relationships with students, staff and families.
  • Maintain confidentiality and accurate records in line with school and departmental policies.

The Perfect Fit!

What we are looking for:

  • Demonstrated experience working with children or young people with complex needs, including behavioural, social or emotional challenges.
  • A calm, patient and empathetic approach, with the ability to respond positively to challenging situations.
  • Understanding of, or willingness to learn, trauma-informed practices and inclusive education approaches.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to follow guidance and work collaboratively with teachers and support staff.
  • Commitment to student wellbeing, safety and positive behaviour support.

Nice-to-Have Skills and Experience:

  • Experience supporting students with additional needs, including ASD, ADHD or emotional regulation challenges.
