About our School:

Spinifex State College, Mount Isa, opened in 2003 after community consultation determined that the two previous state high schools - Mount Isa State High School and Kalkadoon State High School - should merge.  In 2015 Spinifex State College formed a three campus educational facility. The college consists of a Junior Campus; catering to years 7-9, a Senior Campus for years 10-12 and the residential campus. Spinifex Junior Campus has a student population of over 500 from a diverse range of backgrounds and cultures. Approximately 40% of our student population identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.

About the Role:

Responsibilities of a Teacher Aide include:

  • Assisting in the supervision of education activities, under the direction of a teacher
  • Assisting teaching staff with playground supervision
  • Displaying confidentiality, tact, reliability and sensitivity to students and their families
  • Communicating effectively and displaying high level of interpersonal skills to function as an effective team member
