Educational Interpreters play a critical role in ensuring equitable access to the curriculum, classroom instruction, and school life by providing high-quality Auslan-English interpreting services.

About the Role

As a Teacher Aide (Educational Interpreter - Auslan), you will:

  • Provide Auslan-English interpreting in classroom and school settings
  • Support Deaf and Hard of Hearing students to access curriculum content and classroom interactions
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, specialists and school leadership
  • Maintain professional interpreting standards and ethical boundaries
  • Contribute to inclusive education practices and culturally safe learning environments

Appointments may be Permanent or Temporary, Full-time or Part-time, depending on school need and available vacancies.

Applicants must:

  • Indicate their preferred geographic location(s) within Queensland as part of their application
  • Be aware that vacancies may arise at various times throughout the year
  • Understand that appointment will occur only when a suitable vacancy becomes available

The recruitment panel will convene monthly to review applications and assess suitability for inclusion in the pool.
