About Dysart State High School

Dysart SHS is a co-educational public high school in Dysart, Central Queensland, Australia. It delivers education to students from years 7 through to 12. Officially opened on 24th September 1980, it was developed from a secondary department attached to Dysart State School in 1979. The school is committed to providing access to a quality education for young people in the Central Highland. It provides a dynamic approach to education with the focus on maximising opportunities for our students to explore 'what's possible' and then providing them with the skills to reach their goals.

About the Role

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting teachers and students with sporting activities and with school excursions.
  • Assisting with the management and stocktaking of equipment and resources.
  • Communicating effectively and displaying high level of interpersonal skills to function as an effective team member.
  • Maintaining anecdotal records on students for use in reviewing student's development.
  • Displaying respect and empathy for students with high level needs.
  • Displaying confidentiality, tact, reliability and sensitively to students and their families.

Ideal candidate will have the following experience, skills and attributes:

  • Previous experience in working with students with special needs in learning support is preferable
  • A Willingness to lean and undertake additional training
  • Ability to work as a part of a team
