About Cloncurry State School P-12

Cloncurry State School P-12 is a Prep to Year 12 school in North West Queensland. Reading is our school's priority focus within the Primary and Junior Secondary school. Teacher Aides at our school are also encouraged to partake in the swimming program assisting the teacher. Hours of work for Teacher Aides are 8:00 to 15:15 Monday to Friday.

About the Role

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in Reading groups under the guidance of the teacher
  • Assisting in the supervision of education activities, in and out of the classroom under the direction of the classroom teacher
  • Assisting teaching staff with playground supervision
  • Specific Literacy and Numeracy duties - working with small groups as well as individual students
  • Some clerical duties for recording student records

About You

Ideal candidate will have following skills, knowledge and attributes:

  • Reliability, punctuality and flexibility in tasks assigned
  • Ability to work under the direction of a classroom teacher
  • Displaying confidentiality, tact, reliability and sensitivity to students and their families
  • Communicating effectively and displaying high level of interpersonal skills to function as an effective team member
