About the School:

Charleville School of Distance Education is a Queensland State School offering quality educational services to home based learners from Prep to Year 10 in rural and remote Queensland and beyond.

Our students complete their education through daily use of online resources supplied within the Learning Place, telephone and video conferencing 'on-air' lessons, email and through materials sent via Australia Post. This is enhanced through attendance at Field Events, held each term, when students come together at various locations to meet their classmates and teachers face-to-face.

About the Role:

Key Duties:

  • Contribute to the provision of a quality educational service by supervising and supporting students with the completion of their learning materials and associated activities.
  • Assisting teachers and students with sporting activities and with school excursions.
  • Assisting with the management and stocktaking of equipment and resources.
  • Communicating effectively and displaying high level of interpersonal skills to function as an effective team member.
  • Maintaining anecdotal records on students for use in reviewing student's development.
  • Displaying respect and empathy for students with high level needs.

Skills and abilities to have, or rapidly acquire, knowledge as a Teacher Aide in a responsible way assisting in the supervision of education activities under the direction of teachers at Charleville School of Distance Education, working with small groups as well as individual students, communicate effectively and display a high level of interpersonal skills to function as an effective team member, keyboard skills and general admin duties.

The successful applicants will need to obtain a ‘Working with Children' Blue Card.
