About Us:
Bymount State School is located 64 kilometres North of Roma in the Darling Downs South West Region. Established on this site in 1945 the school serves an established grazing and farming community which actively supports the school with involvement in annual planning, class activities and fund-raising.
The school provides a safe, supportive environment while offering high-quality education programs that meet the needs of all students. The curriculum focus is explicit teaching of literacy, numeracy and science, with Information Communication Technologies (ICTs) integrated into daily learning. The interactive whiteboards, internet, digital cameras and use of a wide range of software ensures students and staff are equipped for the digital world. An annual whole school camp exposes students to differing environments and allows them to further develop personal attributes.

About the Role:
Responsibilities include, but not limited to;
- Support teaching and learning by assisting with classroom activities, literacy and numeracy programs, and working with individual students and small groups.
- Provide supervision and assistance during lessons, playground, transport, excursions, and sporting activities under teacher direction.
- Assist students with diverse and high-level needs, including personal care where required, while demonstrating empathy, respect, and confidentiality.
- Carry out administrative and clerical tasks such as preparing materials, maintaining records, managing class rolls, and supporting assessment processes.
- Maintain a safe, organised, and supportive environment by managing resources and equipment, contributing to student wellbeing (including first aid), and working effectively as part of a team.
The Teacher Aide reports to the Principal or nominated delegate as appropriate. The reporting relationship to teachers may be changed by the Principal on a regular basis to fulfil specific needs within the school. When supporting students with specific health procedures, a Teacher Aide will be under the direct or indirect supervision of a registered nurse or medical practitioner.
