About the Role

Duties will include, but not limited to, the following:

  • In class support for Literacy with identified students and students at risk.
  • Working with small groups as well as individual students.
  • Use of technology (e.g., Computers and iPads) when working with students.
  • Playground duty as required.
  • Communicating effectively and displaying high level of interpersonal skills to function as an effective team member.
  • Displaying respect and empathy for students with complex needs.
  • Displaying confidentiality, tact, reliability and sensitivity to students and their families.
  • Assisting in the supervision of education activities, under the direction of a teacher.
  • Other suitable duties, consistent with the duties and responsibilities of the position, as directed by the supervisor or nominated delegate.

About You

Ideal candidate will have following skills, knowledge and experience:

  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral, to support literacy instruction for students.
  • Willingness to undertake specific training to enhance student support as necessary.
