About this job

About Us

At Birkdale South State School, we recognise that every student brings a unique set of knowledge, abilities, and experiences from their ever-changing world. We embrace these individual differences and stages of development, tailoring our approach to optimise each student's learning outcomes. We understand that parents play a vital role in their child's educational journey, and a positive, collaborative relationship between parents, teachers, and students is key to fostering enthusiasm for learning. Our commitment is to ensure that every day, in every lesson, every child is engaged, learning, and succeeding through inclusive education practices. We focus on developing critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and nurturing the whole child, all while instilling a lifelong love for learning. At Birkdale South, we put 'Students First'.

About the Role

Our first teacher aide position requires the ideal candidate to possess strong ICT skills, particularly with Microsoft products, and possibly Canva or similar platforms for creating visual supports and communications. The role requires excellent written communication, the ability to efficiently organise and coordinate tasks, and a proactive, positive attitude in a busy team environment. Additionally, the position demands high-level administrative support, including proficiency in Excel, while also providing direct support to students across various settings. This role is perfect for someone confident in managing administrative duties while also assisting students.

Our second teacher aide role involves working closely with students with disability and those needing additional engagement support across the school. The successful candidate will be patient, flexible, and dedicated to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment, helping to ensure all students can fully participate and thrive in their educational journey.
