St Anthony's School, Kedron is seeking an experienced and dedicated Support Teacher Inclusive Education (ST:IE) to join our community. As a key member of our Learning Support Team, you will work collaborately with our 2nd Support Teacher: Inclusive Education to support students across a full range of abilities and needs. Your role will involve implementing inclusive and effective teaching and learning strategies to engage and improve educational outcomes for all supported students in Prep to Year 2. You will lead our school officers and provide professional development to all staff on inclusive practices. You will also case manage all students with identified needs in Prep to Year 2.

About the role - As a dynamic and innovative member of our school community, in collaboration with students, parents, teachers, leaders and allied health professionals, you will support students across the full range of abilities and needs, to meet specific learning needs, you will:

  • Create a nurturing and ordered learning environment which is learner-centred, safe, supportive, co-operative and aligned with relevant curriculum, policies and practices
  • Collaborate with your peers to develop and implement quality curriculum programs and appropriate pedagogy
  • Assess, provide feedback and report on student learning
  • Work with the school leadership team and colleagues to contribute to the professional life of the school
  • Proactively engage with professional learning to enhance student learning outcomes
  • Ensure that the teachings and values of the Catholic Church form a foundation for learning and teaching.

About you -
To be successful in this role you will bring relevant qualifications and contemporary teaching experience in Support Teacher Inclusive Education ((ST:IE) as well as:

  • Strong literacy, numeracy and digital literacy practices plus a clear understanding of the Australian Curriculum
  • Demonstrated competence against the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers across professional knowledge, practice and engagement.
  • Exemplary communication and interpersonal skills
  • Know and understand the Disability Discrimination Act and apply Disability Standards for Education
  • Demonstrated application of the NCCD model as part of a whole-school approach to supporting students with a disability
  • Proven ability to oversee and deliver a range of processes, including enrolment transitions, and mapping and planning functions to support inclusive education practices
  • Commitment to engage with colleagues, students, and parents/carers to achieve the best outcomes
  • Commitment to child safety
  • Demonstrated competence against the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers across professional knowledge, practice and engagement.

At BCE our teachers are required to:
  • Hold a current Queensland College of Teachers registration; and
  • Be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.

If this role does not require you to teach Religious Education, you do not need to be Catholic.
We support all teachers with Accreditation to Teach pathways after you start with us.
