About the role -

Holy Spirit is seeking a full-time Support Teacher: Inclusive Education from the commencement of the 2025 school year. To be successful in this role you will bring relevant qualifications and contemporary teaching experience as well as: 
  • Strong knowledge of literacy, numeracy, and digital literacy practices
  • Experience using the Australian Curriculum to meet the needs of a diverse student population
  • Demonstrated competence against the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers in professional knowledge, practice, and engagement
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Disability Discrimination Act with the ability to apply Disability Standards for Education
  • Demonstrated experience in the application of the NCCD model as part of a whole-school approach to supporting students with a disability
  • Proven ability to oversee and deliver a range of processes, including enrolment transitions, and mapping and planning functions to support inclusive education practices
  • Commitment to engage with colleagues in the Learning Support Team, classroom teachers, school officers, students, and parents/carers to achieve the best learning outcomes

About you - To be successful in this role you will bring relevant qualifications and contemporary teaching experience as well as:
  • Strong literacy, numeracy and digital literacy practices plus experience using the Australian Curriculum in a flexible manner to meet the needs of a diverse student population
  • Demonstrated competence against the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers across professional knowledge, practice and engagement.
  • Know and understand the Disability Discrimination Act and apply Disability Standards for Education
  • Demonstrated application of the NCCD model as part of a whole-school approach to supporting students with a disability
  • Proven ability to oversee and deliver a range of processes, including enrolment transitions, and mapping and planning functions to support inclusive education practices
  • Commitment to engage with colleagues, students, and parents/carers to achieve the best outcomes
  • Have a commitment to Safeguarding 
    The Archdiocese of Brisbane has standards of conduct for workers to maintain a safe and healthy environment for children. Our commitment to these standards requires that we conduct Working With Children (WWC) and background referencing for all persons who will engage in direct and regular involvement with children and young people and/or adults-at-risk. The organisation is fully committed to child safety and has a zero tolerance to abuse of children or adults-at-risk. 

At BCE our teachers are required to:
  • Hold a current Queensland College of Teachers registration; and
  • Be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.

About our school:

Holy Spirit is a vibrant, happy and welcoming Primary School.  We are a close-knit community with a strong connection to our Parish in Bray Park.  Each year level is comprised of three classes, supported by a comprehensive Learning Support Team and School Officers.  Student wellbeing and progress is central.  Our Year Level Teams work collaboratively to prepare and plan for optimal engagement for all students; each Team is well supported by the Primary Learning Leader and other key personnel.  

We promote a positive work culture through regular professional development opportunities, allocated non-contact time, effective contemporary resourcing, staff wellbeing activities and a true sense of belonging.   The school is well-resourced with 1-1 iPads for students and IT devices provided for each staff member.  Student wellbeing and learning engagement are both promoted and supported through our Positive Behaviour for Learning practices, additional Targeted Support Teachers and our Wellbeing Staff.

Do I have to be Catholic?
All BCE teachers must have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education. If this role does not require you to teach Religious Education, you do not need to be Catholic.

Our teachers of Religious Education are required to be Catholic and attain Accreditation to teach Religion in a Catholic school. Not accredited to teach in a Catholic school yet? That’s okay, BCE will support you to achieve this through your professional development after you start with us.
