About the role -
St Joseph's Primary School Bracken Ridge is seeking a Support Teacher: Engagement and Wellbeing in a full-time capacity for the 2025 school year. This teacher will oversee and support Positive Behaviour 4 Learning processes at the school and work to ensure increased social and academic outcomes for students.

The successful applicant will display a strong understanding of PB4L as well as: 
  • Demonstrate leadership capacities in coaching and implementing appropriate programs to support increased positive behaviour.
  • Build staff capacity in the levels of teaching response through the implementation of universal supports, while monitoring targeted and personalized support across the school.
  • Work with teachers in a coaching approach to implement universal classroom management strategies based on the 8 Effective Classroom Practices and Responses to behaviour.
  • Work with students who require Tier 2 supports – check in check out; social skills, clubs and groups; mentoring
  • Support Teachers with students requiring Tier 1 and 2 targeted supports for PB4L by assisting with targeted and strategic intervention strategies for students
  • Assist with Tier 3 supports
  • Work with the Leadership Team to monitor and support student behaviour and teacher capacity and the implementation of a goal within our 2025 Annual Plan

About you - To be successful in this role you will bring relevant qualifications and contemporary teaching experience as well as:
  • Strong literacy, numeracy and digital literacy practices plus experience using the Australian Curriculum in a flexible manner to meet the needs of a diverse student population
  • Demonstrated competence against the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers across professional knowledge, practice and engagement.
  • Know and understand the Disability Discrimination Act and apply Disability Standards for Education
  • Demonstrated application of the NCCD model as part of a whole-school approach to supporting students with a disability
  • Proven ability to oversee and deliver a range of processes, including enrolment transitions, and mapping and planning functions to support inclusive education practices
  • Commitment to engage with colleagues, students, and parents/carers to achieve the best outcomes
  • Have a commitment to?Safeguarding 
    The Archdiocese of Brisbane has standards of conduct for workers to maintain a safe and healthy environment for children.   • Hold a current Queensland College of Teachers registration; and
  • Be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.

Do I have to be Catholic?
All BCE teachers must have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education. If this role does not require you to teach Religious Education, you do not need to be Catholic.

Our teachers of Religious Education are required to be Catholic and attain Accreditation to teach Religion in a Catholic school. Not accredited to teach in a Catholic school yet? That’s okay, BCE will support you to achieve this through your professional development after you start with us.
