  • Part time Fixed Term | 5 day Fortnight (38hrs/fn) - Wk 1 = 3 days, Wk 2 = 2 days - 7.6hrs/day (open to negotiation on days and hours to be flexible for the right candidate) 
  • Commencing immediately until 23/12/2025
  • Salary commencing at $124,675 - $138,521 + Super (pro rata for part time) 
  • Fraser Coast Region | Flexible working arrangements


About the role

This position is a key finance support role within Brisbane Catholic Education operating on a business partnering model to provide high-level, contextualised finance consultancy services and advice to an allocation of BCE schools. This role will support our schools across the Fraser Coast region from Maryborough, Harvey Bay and out to Childers/Gayndah. 

You will work collaboratively with both school and office staff to provide strategic and operational advice and support on a range of school finance related activities.


Your key responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and operational advice, consultancy and support to schools in relation to the administration and management of their budgetary and financial resources
  • Undertake internal reviews and ensure identified improvements are actioned
  • Deliver professional support and guidance to schools on a range of finance, budgeting and reporting activities to ensure compliance with legislative, policy and procedural requirements
  • Build financial capabilities and professional expertise within school administration and leadership teams
  • Guide and support schools to understand and action any census and other finance related reporting requirements
  • Provide strategic advice and direction on the implementation of approved financial policy and procedures in schools
  • Identify and develop strategies, policies, procedures and systems that respond to current and emerging needs and support effective and accountable financial practices in schools
  • Consult with internal stakeholders to evaluate the financial implications of business case submissions and provide advice and guidance where necessary


To be successful in this role you will

  • Experience in a senior finance business partnering role within a large and complex organisation
  • High level strategic financial analysis experience
  • End of month processing, budget preparation, general ledger and BAS
  • High level MS Excel skills
  • A strong customer service focus
  • Experience working effectively with internal and external stakeholders to build collaborative working relationships
  • Experience in identifying and developing strategies, policies, procedures and systems
  • Mentoring and coaching skills
  • High level communication skills
  • Experience in an education setting is desirable


Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications
  • Eligible for membership of a professional Accounting body e.g. CPA Australia
  • Current driver’s licence (own motor vehicle required) - travel to schools in the Fraser Coast Region is required
