Our school was established in 1893 and provides education from Prep to Year 6 with an enrolment of more than 1000 students. The school is situated on the rural/urban fringe of Brisbane.

Your Responsibilities
As the Student Support Officer, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting students to regulate emotions and engage in a school day
- Supporting teachers to transition students back into the classroom after an incident
- Developing and implementing plans for students on how to regulate their emotions
- Guiding and implementing programmes to encourage positive behaviour and supportive environments
- Liaising with teachers to recognise any social and emotional issues
- Liaising with families regarding targeted support for their child
- Supporting families to implement similar support strategies at home so the child has consistency between home and school
- Supporting and working alongside teachers and teacher aides to develop their skills in student engagement and behaviour management and the provision of professional development to staff in this area
