Clairvaux MacKillop College has 2 Maternity leave positions in our Learning Enhancement Team in the position of Support Teacher : Inclusive Education (ST:IE) for. We are seeking committed, successful, experienced teachers to join our team in 2025. In collaboration with the College Leadership, Learning Enhancement Team, Teachers and Parents, you will support students across the full range of abilities and needs, to meet specific learning needs. You will implement inclusive and effective teaching and learning strategies to engage and improve educational outcomes of supported students.

About the role -
As a dynamic and innovative member of our school community, you will:
  • Create a nurturing and ordered learning environment which is learner-centred, safe, supportive, co-operative and aligned with relevant curriculum, policies and practices
  • Collaborate with your peers to develop and implement quality curriculum programs and appropriate pedagogy
  • Assess, provide feedback and report on student learning

  • Ensure that the teachings and values of the Catholic Church form a foundation for learning and teaching

  • Collaboratively developing and implementing quality inclusive education practices, curriculum programs and appropriate pedagogy; evaluating their effectiveness; assessing and reporting student progress and learning outcomes; and reporting these to students, parents and the community
  • Implementing effective, adaptive, inclusive and equitable practices and teaching strategies
  • Oversee the development of learning profiles which clearly outline adjustment requirements in language discernible by teachers, and comply with all evidence requirements for NCCD timelines
  • Proactively and collaboratively engaging in professional renewal practices to enhance student outcomes
  • Working collaboratively with the leadership team, teachers and other staff members in contributing to the professional life of the school
  • Providing effective supervision of students
  • Establishing positive relationships in the pastoral care of students and supporting their spiritual and moral development
  • Encouraging the involvement of the school and students in the life of the church
  • Engaging the wider community in learning and teaching programs
  • Supporting the school in special events and celebrations

About you -
To be successful in this role you will bring relevant qualifications and contemporary teaching experience in Support Teacher Inclusive Education as well as:
  • Strong literacy, numeracy and digital literacy practices plus a clear understanding of the Australian Curriculum
  • Commitment to child safety
  • Exemplary communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven organisational skills
  • Commitment to engage with colleagues, students, and parents/carers to achieve the best outcomes
  • Demonstrated competence against the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers across professional knowledge, practice and engagement.

At BCE our teachers are required to:
  • Hold a current Queensland College of Teachers registration; and
  • Be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.

If this role does not require you to teach Religious Education, you do not need to be Catholic.
We support all teachers with Accreditation to Teach pathways after you start with us.
