Hume Anglican Grammar is a multi-campus co-educational Anglican Diocesan School offering education from Prep to Year 12 in the Northern growth corridor of Melbourne.

About the role: 

Hume now calls for applications for the position of STEM Technician. This role will be full-time (1.0 FTE), ongoing and will be based at our Donnybrook campus. The role will commence at the start of 2025 academic year and offers 5 weeks paid annual leave and 8 weeks leave without pay. 

The STEM Technician role is created with the completion of the brand-new, state of the art STEM Centre at our new and growing Donnybrook Campus. They will work to support staff and students to best utilise this resource through effective operation of the four Science laboratories and the three Technology spaces. Our Donnybrook Secondary section currently comprises of years 7-9 and will expand up to include year 12.

The STEM Technician will exercise significant initiative and be able to work autonomously. They will prepare materials for both Science and Technology disciplines from years 7-9. As the Donnybrook Secondary section of the school grows to year 12, the successful candidate will be confident in one of either Science or Technology supporting VCE students in these specialised disciplines. In the first year of the role, the STEM Technician supports staff and students in both disciplines.

The STEM Technician is a key position working collaboratively with the Subject Coordinator for Science and the Subject Coordinator for Technology. They support teaching staff to provide effective learning outcomes for students at Hume Anglican Grammar. The purpose of the role is to ensure efficient and effective operation of the Science laboratories, Technology spaces and management of resources across the STEM Centre.

The STEM Technician will need to be very organised and self-disciplined, have high standards and strive to improve their own practice and to make efficiencies in the school setting.

Requirement of the Role:

  • Demonstrated relevant experience in a similar role
