About the role - Join our vibrant school community as a STEM Partner, where you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping young minds and fostering a love for STEM and sustainability. In this role, you will:
- Deliver STEM Programs: Teach innovative, hands-on STEM units with an environmental focus to students from Prep to Year 6, encouraging curiosity and critical thinking.
- Create Inclusive Learning Environments: Design engaging, authentic experiences that accommodate diverse learning needs and styles.
- Collaborate with Teachers: Work closely with classroom educators to integrate STEM activities seamlessly into the curriculum, enhancing teaching and learning outcomes.
- Engage with the Community: Build partnerships with industry professionals and community organisations to bring real-world relevance to your teaching.
- Coordinate STEM Events: Lead inspiring school-wide STEM initiatives, including events, clubs, and competitions that spark enthusiasm and innovation.
- Manage Resources: Oversee the Environmental Learning Centre, ensuring its resources and facilities effectively support school programs.
- Integrate ICT: Assist teachers in embedding cutting-edge digital tools and technology into their classroom practices, driving modern learning experiences.
Work Allocation:
- 7 days per fortnight: Delivering STEM programs in the Environmental Learning Centre.
- 3 days per fortnight: Supporting ICT integration in classrooms.
About you - To excel in this role, you’ll bring a mix of qualifications, experience, and passion for STEM education, including:
- Relevant qualifications and contemporary teaching expertise in STEM.
- Strong literacy, numeracy, and digital literacy practices, along with a comprehensive understanding of the Australian Curriculum.
- A commitment to child safety, fostering an environment where every student feels valued and secure.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, and families.
- Proven organisational skills, capable of managing resources and coordinating events.
- Demonstrated ability to meet the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers, with a focus on professional knowledge, practice, and engagement.
- A passion for STEM education and environmental sustainability, inspiring students to think critically and innovate.
- Experience delivering inclusive and engaging learning experiences for diverse student needs.
- Advanced ICT skills and a drive to integrate technology into teaching practices meaningfully.
- A collaborative mindset, working with educators and the community to achieve shared goals.
At BCE our teachers are required to:
- Hold a current Queensland College of Teachers registration; and
- Be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.
