Position summary

Fintona is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Sport Coordinator to lead and enhance our sport programs and set a standard for exceptional teaching. This role is both varied and stimulating, offering a blend of leadership and operational responsibilities within our sport faculty.

As the Sport Coordinator, this role works closely with students and staff to ignite our students’ passion for, and engagement in, sport. Other responsibilities include organising and managing the smooth operation of sport carnivals and related events.

Key responsibilities include to:

  • Design and deliver an exciting and challenging school sports program aligned with the School's strategic goals.
  • Communicate effectively and build strong relationships with staff, students, and parents.
  • Recruit, engage, and support a team of enthusiastic sport coaches.
  • Provide exemplary coaching and manage your own teams with excellence.
  • Develop sport related policies, conduct risk assessments, and update handbooks to meet compliance and communication requirements.
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders to enhance student participation and performance in competitions such as SSV and GSV.
  • Assist Head Coaches in managing the Rowing and Netball programs.

Engaging with students from Years 3 to 12, this role will play a pivotal part in fostering a vibrant sport culture at Fintona.

Fintona teachers

Fintona teachers are integral to our student care and support in maximising student wellbeing and safety and embed themselves in the ethos and life of the School.  Our Senior Campus teachers, Year 5 to 12, have responsibility for a Tutor Group, attend excursions and engage in our camps (outdoor and adventure) program.
