About the Role

As the Sport Coach you will:

  • Coordinate and manage Mackay District and Capricornia Sports representation processes
  • Provide administration leadership of our five sporting academies (Rugby league, Netball, Football, Basketball, Volleyball) and provide in-class coaching support
  • Seek sponsorship and network with the wider Mackay community to promote our Sporting Academies
  • Assist the Head of Department and the Health and Physical Education department in the coordination of the school's Swimming, Cross-Country and Athletics carnivals
  • Provide coaching and out of school sports training (relevant experience in the field is desirable)
  • Support in classrooms with student practical and theoretical work
  • Oversee the preparation, use and general care of equipment and facilities to ensure compliance with required standards of operation and safety
  • Administration duties relevant to the role (including Marketing, sourcing of uniforms, email communication to parents and sponsors, organisation of student travel and accommodation for student competition)
  • Lead the organisation of the Annual Sports Awards event, in collaboration with the Head of Department
  • Coordinate the judiciary process within the Sporting Academies program

Desirable skills:

  • Marketing
  • High level of organisational skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • First Aid / Sports Trainer qualification
  • Coaching / Strength and Conditioning interest
