Salary level, range or hourly rate: From $41.16 per hour (Band One-Speech Pathologist)(School Salary Scale)/(Services Salary Scale)

St Anthony’s is a co-educational Catholic primary school administered by Brisbane Catholic Education located in the inner northern Brisbane suburb of Kedron. Established in 1930, our Franciscan tradition rests on the charisms of St Francis, St Anthony and St Clare. St Anthony’s school enjoys a unique relationship with two Franciscan independent Catholic Colleges namely Padua College and Mt Alvernia College. Together the three schools work in partnership as an educational entity which is known in the local area as FOTH (Franciscans on the Hill). Current enrolments at St Anthony’s is approximately 690 students with 72 members of staff.

About the role
In this role you will contribute to the high quality learning and teaching in our school by providing a collaborative and consultative speech pathology service, responsive to the school context and with a student specific focus which complements the speech pathology services provided through Brisbane Catholic Education’s School Services.

Duties

  • Develop, implement and evaluate speech pathology services to promote student communication, learning and well-being outcomes
  • Optimise the quality of service outcomes in partnership with the Inclusive Education team
  • Maintain standards of practice and competencies consistent with Speech Pathology Australia and BCE policies and guidelines
  • Direct intervention to identified students and assist with school initiatives
  • Participation in school-based processes such as EAP (assuming accreditation)
  • Professional learning for staff/parents as it relates to specific student needs


Qualifications & Registration

  • Speech Pathology qualifications
  • Blue Card or QCT registration


Skills & Experience

  • Clinical competence in differential diagnosis and intervention for children/adolescents with communication difficulties and the capacity to effectively apply this knowledge and expertise within the educational or other organisational contexts.
  • Experience working within educational environments
  • Experience working collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams
  • Problem solving skills
  • Communication and networking skills
