We have two exciting opportunities for the role of Speech Pathologist - Inclusive Education, reporting to the Lead Education Advisor – Inclusive Education. In this role, you will support schools in meeting the diverse learning needs of students with communication difficulties. Collaborating with teachers, you will enhance their capacity to assist these students. Your role within the Inclusive Education & Student Wellbeing team will be crucial in helping students access the curriculum and engage socially.
Positions:
- Full Time | Fixed term (7.5 months) | Commencing February 2025
- Part-time (22.8 hours) | Fixed term (12 months) | Commencing March 2025
About the role:
- Develop, implement and evaluate speech pathology services to promote student communication, learning and well-being outcomes
- Optimise service outcomes in partnership with school staff and the broader school community
- Contribute to data collection, resource development, best practice identification, and program evaluation to support high-quality speech pathology practices in BCE schools.
- Provide professional advice, support, briefings, and reporting on speech pathology services, aligned with research and data, to identify areas for student and teacher development.
- Maintain standards of practice and competencies consistent with Speech Pathology Australia and BCE policies and guidelines.
About you:
- Demonstrated clinical competence and professional capacity to provide evidence-based services that optimise communication, learning and wellbeing outcomes for children and young people with Speech Language Communication Needs (SLCN)
- Demonstrated ability to effectively apply this knowledge and expertise within an education context
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within multi-disciplinary teams
- Demonstrated capacity for solutions-focused, flexible and creative thinking
- Well-developed interpersonal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated commitment to evidence-based practice and continuing self-directed professional growth and development
- Tertiary qualifications in Speech Pathology (Minimum requirement: Bachelor degree)
- Eligibility for Certified Practicing Membership with Speech Pathology Australia (SPA)
- Blue Card or QCT registration
- eligible to work in Australia
- Hold or be eligible to hold a Positive Notice Blue card work working with children.
- Have a commitment to Safeguarding
