Pay: £165.00 - £266.00 per day
The Role:
Veritas Education are working with a special educational needs school in the Leeds area who are looking for a teacher who specializes in teaching to learners with communication needs. The setting supports a range of learning needs, mainly Autism, with varying levels of pre-verbal, non-verbal and speech & language requirements and needs.
The special educational needs setting has fantastic facilities set up to meet the needs of all learners, from sensory rooms to a range of communication materials, and practical learning areas, all implemented to help promote educational growth.
The teacher will be expected to help plan and deliver an engaging lessons, create individual therapy programs, and create new materials to give all students the opportunity to grow, learn and progress in their communication skills.
The ideal applicant will be someone with previous experience teaching a range of learning needs, be comfortable delivering lesson content to both primary and secondary age groups and abilities, and create an inclusive learning environment.
Previous knowledge or training with Makaton, British Sign Language and other communication based training like PECS is preferred.
