Specialist 1:1 Support - Wakefield & Kirklees

Veritas Education is partnering with a specialist SEND provision across the Wakefield and Kirklees areas to recruit an experienced and dedicated 1:1 Support Worker. This is a long‑term position with the potential for permanent opportunities for the right candidate.

We are seeking someone confident and capable in supporting learners with a range of complex needs. The successful applicant should be comfortable with the following:

  • Learning Needs

    • Experience supporting Autism and a variety of additional learning needs is essential. Due to the complexity of the student's profile, we require someone skilled in providing tailored support, care, and guidance.

  • Personal Care

    • You must be comfortable assisting with personal care, including hygiene routines and changing. Many learners have complex medical or developmental needs and require consistent, sensitive support in these areas.

  • Behaviour Support

    • The ideal candidate will be confident in managing challenging behaviour and able to de‑escalate situations calmly and safely. Training can be provided by Veritas Education for those looking to further develop their skills.

  • Reliability & Commitment

    • As this is a 1:1 role, reliability is crucial. We are looking for someone who is committed, proactive, and able to provide consistent support to ensure stability and progress for the learner.
