About the Role:

As the Solution Architect Specialist, you will:

  • Develop enterprise solution architectural processes and quality by providing specialised advice on the design and implementation of high quality, enterprise class technology solutions, assess program/project initiatives and drive architectural compliance across programs and projects.
  • Utilise Enterprise ICT and business knowledge to help ensure that the Department and the supporting ICT are aligned and will have the capability to meet future requirements for all initiatives.

The Solution Architect Specialist reports to the Director, Portfolio and Architecture, Governance, Cyber and Policy, Information and Technologies Branch, People, Information and Communication Services Division.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Utilise architecture knowledge and skills to lead efforts to raise the awareness and maturity of solution architecture services within the department.
  • Collaborate with the department's Enterprise Architects and Portfolio Office, to establish policies, principles and practices for the selection of solution architecture components. (SFIA, Level 6 - ARCH)
  • Lead the development of organisational systems integration and build capabilities including automation and continuous integration. (SFIA, Level 6 - SINT)
  • Convey experience and practical implementations with low level tools, testing techniques, integration and software applicable to the success of solutions. (SFIA, Level 5 - TECH)
  • Leads and plans the development of innovation capabilities and implementation of innovation processes, tools and frameworks. (SFIA, Level 6 - INOV)
  • Survey the market landscape in the identification and assessment of new and emerging hardware, software and communication technologies for products solution insights, direction, vendors, methods and techniques. SFIA Level 6 EMRG.
  • Leading internal ICT planning activities, in compliance with whole of government endorsed frameworks, strategies, standards and methodologies where required. (SFIA, Level 5 - METL)
  • Establish and improve relationships with staff and senior officers in the department to communicate, support, and advance the solution architecture practice. (SFIA, Level 5 - CNSL)
