The Soft Craft Instructor plays a vital role in supporting the school's educational philosophy and creative vision, contributing to the development of students' artistic, practical, and imaginative skills. While the Class Teacher is present throughout the lesson, the Soft Craft Instructor facilitates developmentally appropriate craft projects relevant to the Steiner curriculum.

About You
The successful applicant will be an experienced crafter (proficiency in knitting and crocheting is a must) with a genuine interest in and a warm approach to assisting children in a Waldorf classroom setting. You will be a committed, imaginative, and patient co-educator who possesses excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in close collaboration with classroom teachers. With your generally positive outlook and attitude, you are willing and able to find ways to meet and support each child where they are at.
Key Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated soft craft skills , including knitting and crocheting (essential) as well as sewing, felting, embroidery etc.
- Understanding of the Steiner craft curriculum
- Experience working with children
- Ability to work with individuals as well as small groups of children of different ages and in a range of classes
- Excellent time management skills
- Experience working with neurodiverse children and students with additional needs
- Must have full working rights in Australia
Applicants must hold a current “not-prohibited” SA Working with Children Check and provide/obtain RRHAN-EC and Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting certificates before commencement of employment.

This is a permanent part-time position, comprising 21 hours over 4 days per week for 40 weeks per annum (38 term weeks + 2 weeks school-based conference), commencing 27th April 2026.
Remuneration is based on the current Willunga Waldorf School Enterprise Agreement and includes 6 weeks’ annual leave (pro rata).
