The successful applicant will be appointed to the PO2 classification with eligibility for progression to the PO3 once specific criteria have been met or demonstrated. Please note salary rate shown is reflective of PO2 to PO3 classification range.

Your Role:
The focus of the role is to provide support for students with mild to moderate mental health concerns. The Wellbeing professionals employed through the Student Wellbeing Package work as part of schools' established student support teams to enhance wellbeing and mental health support available to students.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide professional support and information for students, parents, carers and school communities that facilitate partnerships in decision making for enhancement of all students' learning.
- Use evidence-based intervention strategies to support young people experiencing challenges with mental health, and social and emotional wellbeing.
- Provide therapeutic counselling and support through individual or group sessions to address mild to moderate mental health concerns.
- Facilitate referrals to other allied health professionals and services and assist students and families to access this support.
- Support school communities I responding to critical incidents and emergencies as a part of the school response team.
- Develop and/or maintain appropriate data collection and confidential records keeping and reporting systems for individual students referred for Social work services in line with department procedures and policies
- Participate as a member of a multi-disciplinary team within a educational setting, providing support to school, community and inter agency/networks relevant to the position.
