About the Role:

We are seeking to fill the following roles across Metro North Region with appointment being based on your relevant experience and qualification.
• PO2/PO3 Social Worker
As a specialist member of a multi-disciplinary team, you will offer therapeutic and case management support to students with mild-to-moderate mental health concerns.

As part of the Student Wellbeing Workforce, we aim to ensure every Queensland state school student has access to a wellbeing professional at school. The focus of the role is to provide support for students with mild to moderate mental health concerns. Wellbeing professionals employed through the Student Wellbeing Workforce work as part of schools' established student support teams to enhance the wellbeing and mental health support available to students.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assess the mental health needs of students to inform appropriate therapeutic interventions.
  • Deliver individual and group interventions to students which address mental health concerns.
  • Work collaboratively with schools' leadership and student support teams to inform student support planning, and provide advice to teachers supporting students' mental health in the classroom.
  • Develop referral and case management processes to support delivery of the service.
  • Coordinate referrals to external agencies, and work collaboratively with external networks and stakeholders to ensure access to appropriate supports for students.
  • Provide advice and assistance to families to support the mental health of students.
  • Support school communities in responding to critical incidents and emergencies as part of the school response team
