About the Role

We are seeking suitably qualified, innovative and enthusiastic teachers who would like to submit their expressions of interest for a range of ongoing and fixed term roles commencing in 2027.

The Senior School Teacher at Canberra Grammar School is a subject specialist and an educator of the whole person, teaching across Years 7 to 12 and the senior pathways of the IB Middle Years Programme (IB MYP), the IB Diploma Programme (IB DP), IBCP and the Higher School Certificate (HSC), based on experience.

About You

You are an engaging and accomplished educator or an emerging teacher with the potential to become one.

You combine strong subject expertise with the ability to make ideas meaningful, relevant and memorable. You set high expectations while creating an inclusive classroom in which students feel supported, challenged and inspired to grow.

Essential

  • Subject expertise sufficient to teach your discipline to senior level
  • Success, or clear potential, in teaching across the secondary years
  • The ability to engage students across a broad range of ages, abilities and learning needs
  • Effective use of assessment, feedback and data to advance student learning
  • A genuine commitment to pastoral care and the development of the whole person
  • Enthusiasm for contributing to the co-curricular and broader life of the School
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and technological confidence
  • High professional standards and a collaborative, reflective approach.

Desirable 

We would also welcome:

  • Experience teaching within the IB MYP, IB Diploma Programme, IB Career-related Programme or NSW HSC
  • Experience across more than one senior curriculum pathway
  • Experience contributing to co-curricular, outdoor education or service programs
  • Involvement in enrichment, extension or academic competition programs
  • A postgraduate qualification or further scholarship in your teaching discipline or education.
