Your Role:
- Support the Early Childhood Regulatory Authority by consistently and fairly applying relevant early childhood education and care (ECEC) legislation, standards, policies and guidelines in the regulation of the ECEC sector within the context of the Regulating for Quality policy.
- Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders including Regional Offices, Central Office Teams and ECEC providers and services to achieve regulatory outcomes.
- The Senior Regulatory Officer reports to the Manager, Regulation, in each Regional Office, Early Childhood Regulatory Authority, Early Childhood Branch, Early Childhood and State Schools Division.
About You
The successful applicant will have the following qualities:
- Experience as a regulator or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of regulating the ECEC sector.
- Experience in conducting assessment and rating (quality assurance) or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge and complete training in conducting assessment and rating.
- Ability to analyse evidence and create analysis.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to prioritise and complete projects and tasks efficiently.
- Decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage risk and prioritise the work.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a range of different stakeholders.
Responsibilities include:
- Consistently and fairly applying relevant early childhood education and care (ECEC) legislation, standards, policies and guidelines in the regulation of the ECEC sector within the context of the Regulating for Quality policy. This may be carried out through monitoring, investigations and assessment of applications and notifications, as required.
- Conduct assessment and rating (quality assurance) of education and care services against the National Quality Standards.
- Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders including Regional Offices, and ECEC providers and services to achieve regulatory outcomes.

- It is a mandatory condition of this role that you:
- Possess a current Working with Children Check clearance (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services. (In accordance with the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000 a person is prohibited from working in regulated child-related employment unless the person holds a current Working with Children Check clearance (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services).
- Hold a current drivers' licence if your specific role requires you to visit ECEC services.
