About the Western Cape College
The Western Cape College is a unique state school with two campuses located in Mapoon (P-6), and Weipa (P-12), as well as a secondary residential facility also located in Weipa. Each Campus is set in its own amazing cultural, social and geographical environment, spread over a vast area of the Cape York Peninsula in Far North Queensland.
Western Cape College Residential Campus is a Department of Education operated boarding facility in Weipa that provides a culturally safe, home away from home for Indigenous Students from Cape York and the Torres Strait. The team at the Residential Campus have strong links to the indigenous cultures of the Cape and the Torres Strait as well as a wealth of experience working with youth.

The Position
The Head of Operations Residential Campus is a new position and will play a vital role in improving the operations and residential experiences of students at Western Cape College. Through strong leadership, strategic decision-making, and financial acumen this new role will manage the staff, facilities, resources, and services that support student success and wellbeing.
As the Head of Operations, Residential Campus reporting to the Manager Residential Campus, your responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
- Provide regular strategic advice and manage the development and delivery of a range of corporate services in accordance with department policy.
- Actively participate in the College Services leadership team decision making processes with regard to the provision of services to support Campus operations and seek out opportunities to challenge existing business services processes, recommending alternative approaches that drive process improvement
- Provide leadership, supervision and support for a multi-functional team providing operational and administrative support for students in a residential facility.
- Manage the physical and financial resource performance against budgeted, financial and operations goals, and ensure compliance with departmental delegations, policies, and procedures
