About the Department of Education:

The Strategic Communication & Engagement (SCE) branch is responsible for the department's corporate communications, sponsorship and events as well as media and social media. Services provided by SCE ensures that the department has a strategic corporate communications framework and consistent approach to engaging with schools, members of the community, the media, business, and other government agencies.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Director, Community Engagement and Events, the role is responsible for managing key Creative Generation - State Schools Onstage (CGEN) categories as well as delivering the annual Showcase celebration dinner. The role will also support some marketing and communication activities including social media.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing CGEN categories, such as Drumline and the First Nations dance ensemble, including coordinating nominations, judging, rehearsals and liaising with conductors and choreographers.
- Consulting with schools, regions, key internal and external stakeholders to plan and deliver creative strategies.
- Preparing, implementing, monitoring and evaluate communication plans, printed materials and social media for major departmental programs and events.
- Developing, tracking and reporting on budgets, sourcing external suppliers and coordinating associated purchasing and payment processes.
- Maintaining professional relationships with staff, external clients and key stakeholders to ensure the success of departmental programs and events.
Individuals applying should have strong program and stakeholder management, communication and events experience. An understanding of performing arts within schools would be advantageous.
After hours and weekend work is integral to the role.
This role is a Temporary position, for a period of 12 months unless otherwise determined.
