About the Role:

As the Senior Program Officer, you will have responsibility for the following:

  • Research and develop responses to significant initiatives, contributing to the development of major briefings, reports, submissions and advice for senior managers regarding the key functions of the program.
  • Identify, analyse and progress strategic issues and formulate innovative and workable solutions and strategic advice to senior managers within the program.
  • Contribute to the development of a range of key activities for the division including strategic and operational planning, reporting, performance and risk management.
  • Manage the preparation and presentation of accurate and comprehensive statistical reports to support senior and executive management within the department.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with key clients, contacts and organisations within the department, regions and other government agencies.

Your Opportunity:

As part of the Portfolio Performance Reporting Team (PPR), within Portfolio Investment, you will work closely with internal stakeholders, central agencies, external statutory authorities and portfolio partners to deliver:

  • High-quality reports and information services to the Director and senior management within the Division, Department and Government.
  • Analytics and reporting services, and supporting continuous improvement through the adoption of business intelligence and other tools and supporting workflows and processes.

About You:

  • Knowledge and understanding of financial management practices and processes within a complex work environment.
  • Experience in supporting finance functions to meet legislative requirements.
  • Demonstrated effective communication, consultation and negotiation skills with demonstrated ability to represent the department and to establish and maintain mutually productive partnerships with clients, team members and other stakeholders.
