About the Role:

Promote evidence based and best practise physiotherapy within the Far North Queensland physiotherapy team, to ensure students can access their school environment, that all students with disability, particularly those with physical impairment, can participate in all aspects of their school curriculum, educational activities and within their school community, throughout their educational journey.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to;

  • Form strategic partnerships with schools, allied health professionals and families.
  • Participate in specialised projects and research activities in consultation with the supervising physiotherapist.
  • Share physiotherapy models, practices and resources with other physiotherapists within the department.
  • Support new staff and university physiotherapy students in placements following consultation with the supervising physiotherapist.

Mandatory requirements: (if applicable)

  • Possession of a degree in physiotherapy from a recognised tertiary institution, or other equivalent formal qualifications which, in the opinion of the Director-General, Department of Education, or delegate, are acceptable.
  • General registration as a physiotherapist through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
