Why this Role?

In the Senior Occupational Therapist (Clinical) role you will work with the regional occupational therapy professional supervisors to identify and respond to the support and development needs of the Darling Downs South West occupational therapy team. You will collaborate with the state-wide occupational therapy team to participate in service improvement activities at a state-wide level.

In this role you will also provide high quality clinical services to schools, promoting collaboration in complex scenarios and supporting the implementation of evidence-based occupational therapy supports to enhance inclusive education practices and support positive student outcomes.

Mandatory Requirements

  • Possession of a degree of occupational therapy from a recognised tertiary institution, or other equivalent formal qualifications which, in the opinion of the Director-General, Department of Education or delegate, are acceptable and registration with the Occupational Therapists Board of Queensland.
  • Current registration or the ability to obtain registration prior to commencing employment with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency). Supervised practice cannot be supported in this position
  • In accordance with the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000, registered health practitioners working within their professional capacity must hold valid registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency at all times during employment for the purpose of satisfying the exemption requirements of the Act.
