Your Role:

As the Senior Internal Auditor, you will:

  • Assist Principal Internal Auditors to plan and conduct school audits as well as operational, compliance and financial audits and related activities where needed, to improve the effectiveness of governance, risk management and control processes.
  • Use contemporary auditing practices to drive the effectiveness and efficiency of departmental systems and operations.
  • Deliver high quality outcomes and ensure quality assurance over the work you perform in accordance with relevant professional standards and defined branch audit methodologies.
  • Work collaboratively with Principals, school staff , other clients and key stakeholders to achieve internal audit objectives.
  • Provide school Principals, their staff and client management, with practical advice and make recommendations on the effectiveness and efficiency of school and departmental systems and operations.
  • Travel and overnight stays are a requirement for this role.

About You:

  • Excellent attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A positive attitude and commitment to achieve team deliverables while pursuing continuous growth and actively seeking feedback.
  • An understanding of departmental policies, procedures, other requirements and relevant legislation.
  • Knowledge of, or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of contemporary auditing tools and techniques including development and use of risk and control matrices (RACM), data analytics and visualisation reporting tools as relevant to the audit, IIA standards, for the completion of audits.
  • Proficiency using the Microsoft suite of software and other departmental systems.
  • A valid and current Working with Children Authority (Blue Card).
