About the role
The Senior Infrastructure Services Officer is responsible for identifying, assessing and acquiring strategic land parcels for a growing education demand, including development of new schools and the expansion of existing schools. The team covers a broad range of property functions, and you will be required to provide strategic advice and undertake due diligence, investigate site services and access, undertake commercial negotiation and compulsory acquisition, and associated relevant actions in relation to property transactions including compensation matters. The role includes undertaking detailed due diligence and stakeholder engagement to identify and de-risk priority sites and strategic opportunities to facilitate the delivery of the expanding education portfolio.
As the Senior Infrastructure Services Officer, you will:
- Undertake consultation with private developers and landowners to acquire land strategically for future schooling needs.
- Adopt a project management approach to complex matters to achieve consolidated outcomes.
- Develop and sustain productive working relationships with key internal and external stakeholder groups, including other Property Services teams of Leasing, Tenure and Operational Services, Strategic Advisory, property owners, regional infrastructure advisors and across government departments.

About You
To be successful in the role you will possess the following attributes:
- Demonstrated high level of negotiation and communication skills.
- Knowledge of or ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of legislation and departmental policy pertaining to transactional real estate including but not limited to the Land Act and Acquisition of Land Act.
- Demonstrated ability to be flexible and manage multiple competing priorities within short timeframes.
- Accurate record keeping and reporting abilities.
- Although not mandatory, appropriate tertiary qualifications or at least 5 years industry experience in property services, including town planning, would be beneficial.
- You will also hold a current Working with Children Check clearance (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services), a mandatory requirement for this role.
